Established in 2011 by a cancer survivor, Strands of Strength (SOS) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide new wigs free of charge to cancer patients in financial need and suffering hair loss due to treatment. The wigs offered by Strands of Strength disguise hair loss, decrease feelings of vulnerability and provide greater self-esteem, hopefully resulting in the personal strength needed to successfully battle the disease.

Strands of Strength exists to provide new quality wigs to cancer patients in need to cover the significant hair loss that can accompany treatment. These wigs help patients look better, feel better, and rejoin the community during treatment. It’s a simple solution that instills patients with the optimism and self-esteem to raise their chance of victory over the disease.
